Acoustic Emission on slow rotating bearings

Catches

Very slow slew bearing conmon catch: Acoustic Emission (AE) Peak Density™ levels increased on a Thickener Bearing rotating at 16 minutes per revolution – that is 0.0625rpm! Bearing was manually greased and AE levels subsided almost immediately and the bearing was saved!

Excellent example of the power of online AE applied correctly for detecting a failure mode on a difficult to monitor machine, and maintenance team then trusting the results and taking action. Motornostix again is helping maintenance people to go home on time and have peace of mind.
